A space to share your gratitude!
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity...it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” - Melody Beattie
Gratitude is the practice of acknowledging the things in life for which you are thankful and appreciative.
But it's more than absent-mindedly prattling off a list of things/experiences, it is the full body experience of truly (be)holding each thing you are thankful for and taking a moment to extend a genuine recognition and acknowledgement of the thing.
NOTE: Gratitude doesn't mean that you are always happy or feeling totally #blessed lol.
Do not confuse it with 'toxic positivity' - the practice of sticking a smiley face/positive spin on all things in spite of your pain/grief/sorrow (usually marked by a "well, at least...")
Gratitude, again, is simply the practice of expressing appreciation for what you have without any expectation attached.
I am grateful for my health - for my ability to wake each day and see, walk, eat, chew, swallow, breathe, and rest with ease
I am grateful for being presented with so many opportunities to smile, laugh, and be held & appreciated.
I am grateful for my commitment and continued choice to abstain from consuming alcohol and marijuana this month
I am grateful for my 1999 Dodge Ram van, Reg aka Reggie aka Reginald Moore-Francois. She has carried me (and at certain points, 3 traveler friends) safely over 10,000 miles through New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida 🚗
